Voice Actor Recording

Today we recorded the dialogue for our film Tinker with our four voice actors! We met with the two six year olds, Annabelle and Isaac, in the morning for an hour, followed by our Grandpa Moon, Barry, and lastly our 13 year old Emiko, Nadya. I recorded the audio while other members of my team filmed them and gave them direction on what to say. Our film has very minimal dialogue, with only ten lines throughout the film such as "It's Christmas Eve" and "Lets get to work!" but we got our voice actors to say a lot more than we needed just in case we need audio for a trailer later in the year or we decided to add more to our film. We also got them to make sounds, especially hmm-ing and ahhh-ing thinking noises for when the characters are drawing or building toys! The two six year olds were so much fun to work with and I really enjoyed finding ways to make them say what we needed them to say whether it was playing copy cat when they didn't want to say a line, or telling toilet jokes to get laughing audio. Barry was very professional and has acting experience so was very easy to work with, while Nadya was a bit nervous but we just kept encouraging her and I believe we got everything we needed! Lastly we shot some reference footage, where I was in charge of filming and recording audio so that we could see the way people of different ages moved so that we can animate them accurately for our film! Great day.
